About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing Tax Services team in
Ottawa, Ontario. This role will focus on cross-border taxation with a specialization in compliance and advisory services for
individuals, businesses, and trusts with cross-border operations or interests.
As a senior member of our tax team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality service to clients navigating the
complex landscape of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations. You will also support internal initiatives and mentor junior team members as a subject-matter expert in cross-border taxation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax returns and Canadian T1/T2 returns for cross-border clients.
Provide tax planning and advisory services to individuals, corporations, and partnerships with cross-border activities.
Conduct technical research on Canadian and U.S. tax issues, including FATCA, PFICs, expatriation, and treaty positions.
Advise on cross-border structuring, residency determinations, and withholding tax implications.
Assist in managing CRA and IRS audits and inquiries for cross-border clients.
Collaborate with partners and clients to develop tax strategies tailored to complex cross-border scenarios.
Mentor and support junior staff through training, file reviews, and on-the-job coaching.
Qualifications

Senior Associate
Position Summary:
Senior Associates are responsible for leading and/or performing -- from start to finish -- procedures relating to the preparation of year-end working paper files for all types of engagements. You will plan engagements, prepare budgets, prepare work programs, monitor progress, supervise junior staff and review their work, and prepare draft financial statements and management letters, etc., in accordance with professional accounting and assurance standards.
